Thanks to the opening-up of China’s charity Foundation policies, NPI initiated and launched NPI Foundation, aiming to create an enabling environment for Chinese Civil Society Organizations through developing fundraising platform and organizing large scale philanthropic activities to mobilize resources. In addition, NPI foundation will also provide multi-faceted assistances for Chinese NGOs through keen observation and research programs in the Third Sector.

Collective Fundraising
As a way of fundraising learned from international experience, Collective Fundraising endeavors to solicit contribution through a ‘collective channel’ for local grassroots NGOs who may be entangled in raising funds while developing their services.

China NGO Projects Exhibition
In order to build up a bridge between the donor side (such as enterprises and foundations) and the demand side (NGOs involved in the reconstruction and other charity fields), thus to solve the problems caused by the asymmetric information and high transaction costs, NPI aims to mobilize resources into reconstruction work and other charity projects through organizing forums and NGO projects exhibition. We already successfully implemented several large Events such as China NGO Projects Beijing Exhibition (2009 in Beijing), Philanthropy Navigation (2009 in Beijing) and Private Foundations Seminar (2009 in Beijing).

Publications
Social Entrepreneurs (former NPO Overview) is a bi-monthly magazine funded by Ford Foundation. NPO Overview has been published for 7 year with focal areas on the NGO management and popular issues in the Third Sector. The new version of the magazine (Social Entrepreneurs) will focus more on social innovations.

Information Platform
In 1998 a website for NPO information services was set up. Shortly afterwards, to meet the growing demands of Chinese NPOs, CNPON upgraded the China NPO information platform website. NPI will keep on improving the website and putting more efforts on knowledge sharing, idea exchanging and better communication among Civil Society Organizations, government agencies, enterprises and individuals to mobilize social resources into the Third Sector.
